Bengaluru isn’t just about great food and drinks, it’s a city where design and dining go hand in hand. From rooftop hideaways to artfully curated interiors, here are 3 resto-bars in the city where style isn’t an afterthought, it’s a part of the main course.
1522 The Pub, Sahakar Nagar
1522's Sahakar Nagar outlet offers a contemporary take on the classic British-Irish pub, blending Gothic elements with modern design. With a striking blend of bold geometry and unique colour palettes, this venue redefines what a pub can feel like.
The grand green entrance doors give way to an interior that is both mesmerising and hypnotising. You'll find yourself surrounded by black and white chevron patterns that sprawl across the entire restaurant. However, this dramatic design is softened by olive-green velvet sofas, and tall bar stools that invite you to linger, touch, and settle in. The most striking element, although, is the grand chandelier adorning the open bar, a visual that will immediately have you grabbing your phone for a picture.
Artwork, lighting, and decorative accents are thoughtfully curated, blending vintage references with contemporary touches. The design ensures that while the interiors are visually striking, the space remains welcoming, a place where conversations flow, live music complements the mood, and you find yourself staying well past the “just one more drink” moment.

Ganbeii Microbrewery, Koramangala
Perched above the bustle of Koramangala, Ganbeii Microbrewery transforms the city’s rooftop into a striking architectural experience. Every corner is deliberately composed to reveal contrasts in color, material, and scale, creating a sense of discovery as you move through the venue.

The centerpiece of this venue is a sculptural green bar arch which is playful and eye-catching, immediately drawing visitors in and anchoring their visual identity. They have layered seating zones that can accommodate 500+ guests, spread across three floors, as well as a rooftop crafted for an intimate atmosphere.

Across the venue, patterned floors, ribbed wall panels, and a palette of deep burgundy, forest green, and muted metals create a rich, cohesive, and artsy environment. Their striking red corridors are adorned with sculptures that seem to be "breaking through the walls", inviting guests to pause and marvel. These carefully placed art installations add a sense of whimsy, keeping the space lively without ever feeling overdone.

Jollygunj, JP Nagar
Step into Jollygunj and you’re instantly transported to a vibrant, nostalgia-filled Calcutta courtyard. The space celebrates heritage with its thoughtful design, a culmination of colonial windows, exposed brick walls, lime-washed plaster, Shahabad stone flooring, grand mirrors and semi-circular balconies. Even the washrooms are crafted to give you a sense of antique royalty, with wooden double doors for the stalls, and wash basins equipped with foot pedals.
Every corner is styled carefully to create a vibe of history meeting contemporary comfort. At the JP Nagar venue, the roof is the eye-catcher, with balconies shaped to resemble a cloud, and a giant flower-shaped canopy floating above the bar. This approach to the design allowed for a layered zoning of the restaurant, with an open bar, a tucked-away intimate lounge, a performance area, and general seating sections. Designers Farah Ahmed Mathias and Dhaval Shellugar have crafted a space that’s immersive yet intimate, perfect for everything from casual drinks to small gatherings.
