For the first time in India, musician Anoushka Shankar will perform her complete Chapters trilogy in Bengaluru on 31 January 2026.

Chapters is Anoushka Shankar’s expansive musical work tracing light, darkness, and renewal across three different continents. The 14-time Grammy-nominated artist will take the stage at Phoenix Marketcity as part of her Chapters Tour, a six-city celebration including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi (NCR) and Kolkata marking 30 years since her debut performance at the age of 13.
The Chapters Tour
The Chapters trilogy comprises three mini-albums Anoushka Shankar wrote and released between tours over the past two years. The concept started with journal entries at a café in Goa on New Year's Day 2023, where she mapped out "three chapters, three geographies."
Spanning three continents and three emotional states, this work unfolds as a powerful journey across light, shadow, and renewal. Chapter One, Forever, For Now, recorded in Berlin, captures the transient joy of a summer afternoon like the intimate, luminous moments that exist briefly, yet linger with warmth and quiet intensity.
Chapter Two, How Dark It Is Before Dawn emerges from California, sinking into a deeper, introspective space where healing takes shape in the quiet intensity of darkness. And finally, the journey culminates in Chapter Three, We Return to Light, recorded in India, where sarod virtuoso Alam Khan and percussionist Sarathy Korwar take us into the golden heat of morning, alive with rhythm, clarity, and rebirth.
Together, the three chapters form a cinematic arc that moves through emotion, geography, and sound, which transforms Anoushka's personal reflection into a shared experience.
