Kempegowda International Airport is on a roll to make Terminal 2 feel less like just a travel hub and more like a space that reflects the culture and people of Bengaluru. Beyond its modern amenities, T2 offers travelers a unique blend of art, heritage, and mindful, safe spaces, making it more than just a transit point.
Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) at T2
Terminal 2 now brings a slice of Bengaluru’s art scene right to travelers’ footsteps, thanks to a collaboration with the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP). Passengers can explore a mix of South Asian art through interactive digital experiences, from playful art-based puzzles to virtual diya-lighting displays. The domestic terminal features a “Gallery on Demand,” letting visitors discover works by artists like Jyoti Bhatt, Jangarh Singh Shyam, and LN Tallur.
Meanwhile, the international terminal hosts a special exhibition on Padma Shri awardee Bhuri Bai, giving travelers a glimpse into her life and craft. These installations add a calm, reflective touch to the airport, turning a brief stopover into a cultural moment.
Sensory Room for Neurodivergent Travelers
Terminal 2 is thinking about all travelers, not just the ones rushing to catch a flight. The new sensory room is designed specifically for neurodivergent passengers, offering a quiet, calming space away from the usual airport hustle. Soft lighting, gentle sounds, and comfortable seating create an environment where travelers can pause, reset, and recharge.
The room also includes tactile panels and sensory-friendly features that make it engaging without being overwhelming. It’s a small but meaningful addition that shows how the airport is taking inclusivity seriously, making sure everyone, regardless of their needs, can have a more comfortable and stress-free experience while passing through T2.
Shalimar at 080 Lounge
For international travelers looking to unwind, the 080 Lounge at Terminal 2 now features Shalimar, a dedicated space inspired by the beauty of Kashmir’s Shalimar Bagh gardens. The lounge immerses visitors in its Mughal-inspired design, with hand-painted murals, rosebud-shaped light fixtures, and intricate khatamband woodwork decorating panels and furniture. A small indoor rose garden and a delicate white gazebo provide peaceful corners to sit, stroll, or simply soak in the surroundings.
On top of the themed spaces, the lounge offers all the practical comforts travelers expect, such as spa and grooming services, showers, charging stations, a stocked bar, and a VIP area, open 24/7 for eligible cardholders. It’s the perfect spot to rest, recharge, and enjoy a mini cultural escape between flights.
Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport is no longer just a place to catch a flight, it’s becoming a destination in itself. With such thoughtfully designed spaces, the airport now reflects Bengaluru’s culture, creativity, and care for all travelers. These additions make every stop through T2 a little more memorable, showing that travel can be as much about experience as it is about getting from point A to B.
